History of Pleasant Dental / Pleasant Grove Dental

   40 years ago, our dental practice was founded as one of the first in Pleasant Grove.  Dr. Duane Atkinson practiced general dentistry and orthodontics at our location in historic downtown Pleasant Grove for 35 years.   The practice grew quickly with quality dentistry, great service, and a wonderful staff.  In 2005, he invited Dr. David Daynes to join him and after working together for a time, Dr. Atkinson retired from dentistry.   Even though faces have changed, Dr. Daynes has kept the ingredients which made the practice flourish all of those years and added new procedures, new technology, and updates to our office.

   Dr. Daynes is a native of Holladay Utah and completed his undergraduate training at the University of Utah.   He attended dental school at Marquette University School of Dentistry in Wisconsin where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and was awarded the International College of Dentists award for achievement by his professors.  Since graduation he has practiced in Idaho and Oregon for a few years until he and his wife decided to return and raise their family in Utah.  He and his wife have 5 beautiful children.

   Dr. Daynes finds continuing education and developing his skills to be an important part of being your Dentist.   He strives to bring his patients the latest and most advanced techniques available.   He has completed extensive courses on implant restoration, esthetic smile reconstructions, wisdom tooth removal and advanced surgeries.  It is important to him to take yearly courses to stay current and to continuously improve root canal treatments.  Recently his main interests have been devoted to mastering orthodontics /braces.  Because of his passion to become the best dentist for his patients, each year Dr. Daynes completes many more CE hours than required by the Utah State Dental Board.

He is an active member of the following professional associations: American Dental Association, Utah Dental Association, and Provo Dental Societies.  Our office has had two names over time: Pleasant Grove Dental which shortened to our current name Pleasant Dental, we are one and the same!
